Higgs’ Christina Denning Re-elected to NAWIC San Diego Chapter Board of Directors

Tomorrow evening, Higgs’ partner and construction law, business litigation and personal injury attorney, Christina Denning, will attend the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) San Diego Chapter’s Installation Dinner for its officers and directors. Denning has been on the board since 2012 and currently serves as Recording Secretary. As a result of her successful contributions, she was re-elected by the chapter.

In addition to recording all minutes for monthly board meetings and monthly dinner meetings, Denning is responsible for deciding and voting on all chapter matters, including management of budgets, planning and implementation of numerous charity initiatives through coordination with its sister entity, the San Diego NAWIC Education Foundation. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit raises money for education for women in construction.

Denning has big goals for the San Diego Chapter.

“We hope to market the nonprofit so that more construction companies and construction related organizations will be incentivized to donate more to our programs because of the tax write-off,” shared Denning. “I’m also co-chair of the membership committee and hope to grow our membership base and help women take advantage of the opportunities in construction.”

“We’re proud of Christina for being re-elected to the board for such a prominent organization.  She’s not only giving her time, but exceptional organizational skills and commitment to encourage more women to join and take leadership roles in the construction industry,” said Henry Angelino, executive director at Higgs Fletcher & Mack.
