Last month, LEAD San Diego hosted its 14th Annual Visionary Awards at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. The Visionary Awards is Southern California’s premier leadership recognition event, honoring outstanding leaders and their work to improve our region. The program honored five individuals for their impressive work that has resulted in significant community impact.

Not only was Higgs Fletcher & Mack a presenting sponsor of the event, but the firm’s Steve Cologne and Barbara Noerenberg, VP of Corporate Research and Development at Qualcomm, introduced Marilyn Sawyer, the Civic and Community Volunteer extraordinaire and LEAD Graduate of the Year. This award is presented to a graduate of LEAD San Diego’s flagship issues-focused education program who epitomizes excellence in community leadership.

The other individuals honored at the event include:

• Jessie J. Knight, Jr. – The Neil Morgan Memorial Award for Lifetime Achievement
• Greg Koch – Economic Opportunity Award
• Stephen B. Williams – The Charles Nathanson Memorial Award for Cross-Border Region Building
• Mark Cafferty – The Ronald Kendrick Memorial Award for Regional Collaboration
