SAN DIEGO (March 1, 2021): Higgs Fletcher & Mack (HFM) is proud to welcome attorney Francisco Loayza-Romero, who will join HFM’s Business Litigation, Construction, and Labor & Employment Practice Groups.

Loayza-Romero has litigated myriad cases as lead attorney, including class and representative actions. His experience also includes complex construction litigation. In addition, he has defended engineers and architects in high-exposure litigation in both State and Federal courts against claims of breach of contract, indemnity, negligence, intentional misrepresentation, conversion, and breach of fiduciary duty. Some of Loayza-Romero’s work has focused on delay damages and disgorgement of all compensation paid to unlicensed contractors. While in law school, Loayza-Romero served as a Summer Law Clerk at HFM.

Loayza-Romero earned his law degree from California Western School of Law (CWSL), and previously earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to attending law school, Loayza-Romero worked at the California State Capitol, where he garnered firsthand experience and knowledge of the bicameral state legislature. He has also served as an intern in the California Department of Business Oversight’s Enforcement Division Intern while in law school, and he received CWSL’s Diane Ethics Award & Public Service Honors Society Award. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
