Jamie M. Ritterbeck

Jamie Ritterbeck is a transportation, product liability, and business litigation attorney, primarily representing transportation companies and manufacturers in catastrophic loss claims.

Ms. Ritterbeck has extensive experience handling cases with significant exposure, and regularly defends cases against the top plaintiffs’ attorneys in the nation. Her dedicated transportation practice includes a 24-hour rapid response protocol that ensures availability to transportation clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for immediate response to accident and catastrophic loss scenes. This allows for advising clients immediately after an accident about taking appropriate steps to identify and preserve evidence, among other necessary actions. Her experience also includes representing entities and individuals in general and complex business and commercial litigation in state and federal courts. She handles substantive law and motion matters and has had significant success in obtaining dismissals through pre-trial motions including demurrers, anti-SLAPP motions, motions for summary judgment, and various motions to dismiss. She is often recognized for her analytical skills and her strategic, thoughtful approach with clients, in addition to her ability to provide sound advice and consistent results.

Dedicated to giving back to her community, Ms. Ritterbeck provides pro bono representation in asylum matters. Recently, she represented a 17-year old boy from Guatemala, who fled his country to escape unspeakable violence. She was able to help her client obtain political asylum, a life changing result that is not easily granted. She also serves on the Alumni Board at the University of San Diego School of Law, where she is chair of the mentoring committee.

While in law school, Ms. Ritterbeck interned at the University of San Diego (USD) School of Law’s Appellate Clinic, where she successfully represented her client before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Board of Immigration Appeals, resulting in her client’s release from federal custody. As a result of her superior work and 100 plus hours of pro bono legal services, she was honored as the Outstanding Clinic Intern and bestowed with the USD School of Law Certificate of Merit. Additionally, she gained invaluable experience as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Nita L. Stormes of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
