Maggie Schroedter is a Commercial Litigation and Bankruptcy Partner, with special emphasis on bankruptcy appeals.
Ms. Schroedter’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and business bankruptcy, with special emphasis on complex business restructuring, liquidation and creditors’ rights. She represents individual business owners, their companies, investors and creditors under both Chapter 7 and Chapter 11, as well as in bankruptcy litigation. She also has experience representing clients in complex business disputes involving preference and fraudulent transfers, breach of contract, fraud, intentional business torts, and real estate.
Ms. Schroedter’s appellate practice focuses on substantive motion work at both the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Ninth Circuit’s Bankruptcy Appellate Panel. Ms. Schroedter’s in-depth knowledge of insolvency law, combined with unique and substantial experience in the area of bankruptcy appellate work, and careful attention to issue selection and analysis, provides her clients – both individuals and attorneys – with knowledgeable and effective representation on appeal.
Ms. Schroedter was also recognized as a Super Lawyers® Rising Star in 2017, 2018, and 2019, as a Top Business Leader Under 40 by the San Diego Business Journal in 2019, was selected by the American Bar Association On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyer, and recognized by the San Diego Magazine as a “Rising Star” in 2018. Ms. Schroedter serves on the Board of Directors of Lawyers Club of San Diego, an organization dedicated to advancing the status of women in the law and society, and is Past President of the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum.
