Meredith King is a commercial litigation and bankruptcy attorney. Her experience includes representing individual business owners, corporate clients, and fiduciaries in complex financial litigation in federal, state, and bankruptcy courts.
Prior to joining HFM, Ms. King served as Chief Judge Margaret M. Mann’s career law clerk, where she assisted in adjudicating trials on issues of breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, real property and business valuations, fraudulent transfers, dischargeability, land use, usury, and quite title issues.
She is admitted to the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts for Central and Southern District of California. Ms. King graduated cum laude from Smith College and magna cum laude from California Western School of Law, receiving Academic Merit and Creative Problem Solving scholarships. During law school, she was the Executive Editor of Lead Articles for the California Western Law Review and interned at the Department of Justice, Tax Division in Washington, D.C., where she assisted in litigating appeals on behalf of the United States in the Ninth and Eleventh Circuits.
Ms. King has been a member of Lawyers Club of San Diego since 2010 and is the former chair of the History & Archives Committee. She currently serves as President of the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum Executive Board and is a member of the California Lawyers Association’s Business Law Section, Insolvency Law Committee.
