CEB Seminar: Seven Deadly Sins of Construction Contracting
Higgs Fletcher & Mack attorney, Michael R. Gibson will be the moderator at the Continuing Education of the Bar’s seminar, “Seven Deadly Sins of Construction Contracting: Reducing Risk Before the First Nail is Hammered.”
The seminar will be held on March 13th at the San Diego Marriot La Jolla.
The construction industry is highly risk prone. Construction companies face some of the greatest risks of all businesses and disciplines—safety, poor weather, collections, litigation, and numerous overlapping regulations, to name a few. With pre-planning and forethought, some risks can be reduced and sometimes eliminated. This program will outline the best practices for capturing those risks.
- Partnering for success
- Defining roles, duties, and scopes
- Eliminating unreasonable terms
- Understanding indemnity obligations
- Security for payment
- Streamlining change orders
- Promoting safety
This is an intermediate level program and assumes some prior experience with construction contracting.
