Higgs Fletcher & Mack (HFM), a San Diego-based, full-service law firm, announced that Real Estate Practice Group Partner Doug Kerner will serve on the Friends of Balboa Park’s Board of Directors.
The Friends of Balboa Park aims to preserve Balboa Park’s legacy for future generations through park-wide projects. Kerner played an active role in acquiring the Balboa Park Carousel, providing pro bono legal counsel during the due diligence phase in 2017.
“I am pleased to join the Board of Directors of an incredible organization that seeks to enhance San Diego’s most treasured and historic park. I look forward to serving Balboa Park and playing an important part in its future,” said Kerner.
In addition to his new role, Kerner serves as the Vice Chair to the South County Economic Development Council. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Downtown San Diego Partnership and the Chula Vista Charitable Foundation.
Kerner specializes in real estate and corporate and securities law. He represents financial institutions, developers and investors in commercial real estate and lending transactions. He also represents public and private clients in land use and environmental matters.
Kerner received his Bachelor’s of Science from San Diego State University and his law degree from Washington University School of Law.
