Esteemed Real Estate and Construction Attorney Kirsten Worley Joins Higgs Fletcher & Mack

Higgs Fletcher & Mack (HFM) welcomes nationally regarded real estate attorney Kirsten Worley to the Firm as a Partner in HFM’s Real Estate and Construction Law Practice Groups.

Worley has a significant commercial litigation and transactional practice, with a particular focus on real estate and construction litigation and transactions, as well as creditors’ rights related to the industry. She represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors, developers, lenders, sureties, private equity capital investors, suppliers and businesses of all sizes from large corporations to local small businesses, and business owners. Her wide range of experience includes everything from large firm institutional-sized litigation with hundreds of thousands of complex discovery documents to small vendor disputes. Worley’s practice also includes work on everything from large-scale breach of contract litigation to mechanics’ liens, stop notices and bond claims.

Worley’s practice also covers the entire range of creditors’ rights and commercial law issues related to lending, collections, restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy matters, including areas such as prosecution of creditor’s claims in connection with commercial loans and credit facilities including related guaranty and surety indemnity rights, representation of parties in claim objections and adversary proceedings, receiverships, collections actions, pre-insolvency planning, prosecuting claims in bankruptcy, litigating lien priority issues, representing creditor’s interests to minimize the impact of bankruptcy, transactional matters, and negotiated solutions and workouts.

Prior to joining HFM, Worley owned her own firm, Worley Law, P.C. and previously was a partner at boutique construction and surety litigation firm Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald LLP. She is admitted to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and all U.S. District and Bankruptcy courts of California, and she regularly appears pro hac vice in other courts around the country. Worley earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California Berkeley School of Law. Worley currently serves on the Executive Board of the UCLA Real Estate Alumni Group / Ziman Center for Real Estate and is a member of the Associated General Contractors (“AGC”).
