SAN DIEGO (August 30, 2021): San Diego-based law firm Higgs Fletcher & Mack (HFM) has launched a new Nonprofit Organizations Practice Group and is already representing numerous organizations in various legal matters.

The new practice group is spearheaded by HFM Partner Jon Grissom, who has represented a wide variety of public charities, private foundations, and other nonprofit organizations for the past two decades. Attorneys in the new practice group will work with nonprofits and their founders, directors, members and officers regarding entity formation, operational issues, regulatory compliance, unrelated business income tax, employment compliance and investigations, endowment funds, property tax exemption and appeals, lobbying and political activities, joint ventures, grant making, ongoing annual corporate maintenance, mergers, dissolutions, contracts and other related matters.
