– Attorney will assist partner Virginia Price on transportation litigation matters –
SAN DIEGO – October 8, 2015 – Higgs Fletcher & Mack, a San Diego-based full-service law firm for 75 years, announced today the addition of Jamie Ritterbeck as its newest transportation litigation associate.
She will assist partner Virginia Price in defending transportation companies in personal injury and cargo litigation.
“Jamie has deep, domain experience in complex commercial and general business litigation matters. She has handled all phases from discovery and depositions to settlement negotiations and court appearances,” said John Morrell, Managing Partner at Higgs Fletcher & Mack. “Jamie has a lot to contribute to the Transportation Practice Group and we’re excited to have her onboard.”
Prior to joining Higgs, Ms. Ritterbeck was an associate at Klinedinst PC. In this role, she represented individuals and entities in all stages of general and complex business as well as commercial and intellectual property litigation. Before that, Ms. Ritterbeck was an associate at Samuelsen, Gonzalez Valenzuela & Brown, LLP and represented employers and insurance companies in all phases of litigation. Other experience includes research assistant to Professor Michael R. Devitt at the University of San Diego School of Law, legal intern at the University of San Diego School of Law Appellate Clinic, judicial extern to the Honorable Nita L. Stormes, U.S. District Court, Southern District of California and judicial extern for the Superior Court of the State of California.
Ms. Ritterbeck received her Bachelor of Science in Professional Communication from Florida State University where she was named to the Dean’s List. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2012 and received numerous awards and honors, including Outstanding Clinic Intern at the University of San Diego Appellate Clinic, Pro Bono Service Recognition and CALI Award for Excellence in Contracts I and Legal Writing II. Ms. Ritterbeck also received the University of San Diego Law Certificate of Merit for giving in excess of 100 hours of pro bono legal service hours.
