Higgs Fletcher & Mack (HFM) attorney Maggie Schroedter was named to the San Diego Business Journal’s list of “40 Business Leaders Under 40” for 2019.
While more than 100 finalists were named by the publication, only 40 were designated as “Business Leaders” at an event hosted by the publication on August 28th. According to the San Diego Business Journal, the distinction and event were intended to “introduce the young leaders, change makers and innovators who are making waves, creating impact and leaving a positive mark on the San Diego community.”
Schroedter specializes in commercial litigation and bankruptcy, with a special emphasis on bankruptcy appeals. Her high-level appellate practice includes substantive motion work at both the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Ninth Circuit’s Bankruptcy Appellate Panel. Schroedter also represents individual business owners, their companies, investors, and creditors in complex business disputes involving breach of contract, fraud, intentional business torts, real estate, and preference and fraudulent transfer matters.
Her volunteer leadership includes serving on the Board of Directors of Lawyers Club of San Diego and she also served as the 2018 President of the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum. She previously served on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Taxpayers Association and has been appointed to serve the California Lawyers Association’s Insolvency Law Committee, with her term beginning October 1, 2019.
“Maggie is an extraordinary attorney, with a passion not only for her work, but for giving back to her professional community as well,” said Steve Cologne, HFM Managing Partner. “We are very proud to see Maggie receive this honor, and we know there are many accolades in store for Maggie in the future.”
In addition to this honor, Schroedter was named an “American Bar Association On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyer” for 2018, and she has been named a Super Lawyers® “Rising Star” for 2017, 2018, and 2019. Maggie was also a San Diego Magazine “Celebrating Women Rising Star” in 2018 and was a finalist for San Diego Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar” recognition in 2015.
