Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Reorganization
Meet the Attorney: Rahil Swigart
How long have you been at Higgs?
I joined the firm in March 2007.
What is a typical day like?
My days vary depending on whether I’m working on a transactional matter or a litigation matter. Typically, I meet with clients, attorneys and analyze client matters to ensure the best strategy for whatever issue the client may have.
What do you consider your greatest professional accomplishment?
The relationships I build with my clients. For most of my clients, I am more than just an attorney. I am a close friend who is there to assist them when they need me or when they want to share their personal and professional victories.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next year?
My goal is to continue building my practice in real estate and business law.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Problem solving. I’m wired to solve problems. Whether they are legal problems, business problems or personal problems that clients have, I enjoy thinking out-of-the-box and assisting clients, colleagues and businesses with creative solutions.
In addition, I enjoy spearheading the annual diversity scholarship that is awarded to a California Western School of Law student.
Tell us about a recent successful case you handled.
I resolved a real estate litigation dispute for a client that was likely to result in a large judgment against him.
What organizations are you involved with?
I am currently on the Board of Trustees for California Western School of Law. I am also involved in my preschoolers’ school activities.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family and participating in beach clean-ups with my kids.
