We’re proud to announce the promotion of Loren Freestone, AnneElise Goetz and Jason Ross to partner. Their advancement brings the organization’s partner total to 49 and was based on numerous factors, including professional expertise, ethics, judgment, leadership, client responsibility, productivity, business development and community involvement.

Freestone has been at Higgs for 12 years, holds more than 16 years of experience and is a member of the firm’s business litigation and employment practice. He represents and advises large and small employers, corporations, healthcare practitioners and companies in complex civil business disputes, litigation and trial. He was recently named Secretary of the San Diego County Bar Association and elevated to the Executive Committee after serving one year on the organization’s Board of Directors. Freestone is also the former chair of County Bar’s Ethnic Relations and Diversity Committee as well as the County Bar’s Diversity Fellowship Program. He currently serves as a Board Member of the Tom Homann Law Association. Freestone received his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Goetz joined Higgs in 2011 and is a corporate transactional attorney specializing in real estate and healthcare law. Her work ranges from complex, multi-million dollar real estate acquisitions to representing local family-owned companies in contract negotiations. A 2011 and 2012 recipient of the San Diego Daily Transcript’s “Young Attorney” award, she spends her spare time helping organizations focused on empowering young women to seek leadership roles in the fields of law, government and business. Goetz is a past Chair of the Leadership Development Committee in Lawyers Club, active on various committees in Run Women Run and is a recent graduate of LEAD San Diego’s Impact program. She received her law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
Ross has been at Higgs for nearly seven years, and his practice primarily involves defending businesses and employers of all sizes in complex business, employment, and class action litigation. He represents employers in employment litigation, including claims for wrongful termination, discrimination, and harassment, amongst others, as well as large-scale wage and hour litigation. A recipient of the San Diego Daily Transcript’s “Young Attorney” award in 2011, Ross received his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in History from Columbia University.
