“As a firm, Higgs is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion through education,” said Rahil Swigart, Higgs Fletcher & Mack Diversity Committee member and California Western School of Law alum. “We have offered this scholarship to local law students since 2013, made possible by the generous contributions from several of our attorneys and the firm.”
McElroy overcame a number of personal and family challenges to make the Dean’s List at San Francisco State, where she graduated with a B.A, summa cum laude, in Communications and Criminal Justice. At California Western, she is in the top seven percent of her class and serves as the Diversity Officer for the university’s American Constitution Society. She also tutors students in Property and Tort law through the Academic Achievement Office.
“This scholarship will help me keep a promise I made to my family,” said McElroy. “It will help me finish law school and fulfill my dream of becoming an attorney.”
