SAN DIEGO (January 12, 2024): Higgs Fletcher & Mack LLP (HFM) is proud to welcome its newest partner, Sarah Evans, who will practice as a part of HFM’s Business Litigation and Employment Law practice groups.
Evans has been practicing law for over two decades, and regularly provides employment law advice to local employers to assist their compliance with all applicable statues and regulations. She counsels employers on issues including preventing harassment and hostile work environment claims, wage and hour compliance, and disciplinary actions. Her litigation work includes defending lawsuits and claims filed by individual employees, and she also regularly defends clients in class and representative action cases involving employment and wage issues.
“Sarah has a well-earned reputation in our community as an exceptional labor and employment attorney, and we are proud to welcome her to the HFM team as our newest Partner,” said Jim Peterson, HFM’s Managing Partner. “I am confident she will be an asset to both our business litigation and employment law practice groups, and I look forward to all Sarah will contribute to our firm and our clients now and in the future.”
Evans is active in the local community, and recently handled leadership and operational roles during the merger of the Friends of Balboa Park and the Balboa Park Conservancy, creating Forever Balboa Park. Evans served as the organization’s first co-chair and now leads its diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility working group. Evans previously held leadership roles in the Lawyers Club of San Diego, Border View Family YMCA, Former Friends of Balboa Park, and Crawford High School Law Academy, among others.
Evans earned her law degree from Notre Dame Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California. She is co-author of the employment law chapter in all three editions of “A Practitioner’s Guide to Class Actions” published by the American Bar Association.
