SAN DIEGO (Feb. 21, 2024): Higgs Fletcher & Mack (HFM) is proud to welcome attorneys Nicholas R. Schechter and Jake D. Sesti to the firm. Schechter will practice as a part of the firm’s Business Litigation, Health Care Law and Professional Liability practice groups, and Sesti has joined HFM’s Business Litigation and Employment Law practice groups.

With over a decade of experience, Schechter’s practice focuses on civil litigation in state and federal courts with an emphasis on professional liability and health care law. He represents health care professionals and facilities in civil court, binding arbitrations, and administrating licensing matters. Schechter served on the Board of Directors for San Diego Defense Lawyers and is also a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. He earned a law degree from California Western School of Law, and previously earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California Berkeley.

Sesti represents clients in litigation matters related to business disputes, corporate governance, construction defect, defamation, and breach of contract. Sesti previously was an intern at HFM and gained experience as a summer associate at a global law firm. During law school, Sesti also served as a Judicial Extern for the Federal District Court Judge Linda Lopez. Sesti earned a Juris Doctor magna cum laude from California Western School of Law, where he graduated second in his class. Previously, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from California Polytechnic State University.

Both Schechter and Sesti began working at HFM in early February.
