SAN DIEGO (March 30, 2023): Sixteen Higgs Fletcher & Mack (HFM) attorneys have been named “Super Lawyers®” for 2023 and six HFM attorneys have been named “Rising Stars®” for 2023 by Thomson Reuters

Super Lawyers® is a rating system created by Thomson Reuters of outstanding lawyers practicing in more than 70 areas of law who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. “Rising Stars®” is a designation for outstanding lawyers who are 40 years old or younger or have been in practice for 10 years or less.

HFM Partners Roland Achtel, Douglas Butz, Steven Cologne, Christine De Santis, Peter Doody, Susan Hack, Daniel Herbert, Scott Ingold, William Low, William Miller, John Morris, James Peterson, Paul Pfingst, Donald Sheppard, Brian Tsu and Kirsten Worley were all named to the “Super Lawyers®” list for 2023. In addition, attorneys Anna Burnett, Julie Dewberry, Francisco Loayza, Derek Paradis, Sofia Rezvani and Jacob Spaid were named as “Rising Stars®” for 2023.

“Congratulations to all of the Higgs Fletcher & Mack attorneys honored as Super Lawyers® and Rising Stars® for 2023,” said Steve Cologne, HFM’s Managing Partner and a Super Lawyer®. “This recognition is a testament to their individual talents, diligence and dedication to best serving the needs of their clients. Kudos to all of the HFM lawyers and lawyers in San Diego’s legal community who were recognized this year.”

Super Lawyers® evaluates each candidate on 12 indicators, which include criteria such as verdicts/settlements, experience, honors/awards, special licenses/certifications, and pro bono and community service.

No more than 5% of the lawyers in the state of California are named a “Super Lawyer®” each year.
