SAN DIEGO (September 16, 2026): Higgs Fletcher & Mack (HFM) is proud to welcome the firm’s new Executive Director, Jay Anderson, who officially joined HFM in August. In this role, Anderson will direct the firm’s business operations and work with firm leadership on strategic initiatives supporting HFM’s attorneys, staff, and clients.

Anderson has more than three decades of experience in finance and operations, including senior leadership roles at national and regional law firms. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Lagasse Branch Bell + Kinkead LLP, where he oversaw finance, information technology, facilities, human resources and payroll functions across three offices.

“Jay Anderson is a proven leader with a deep understanding of human resources, operations, finance and staff development in the legal environment,” said Jim Peterson, HFM’s Managing Partner. “His considerable experience in law firm management and operations, as well as his understanding of the evolving technology and staffing needs of the legal profession, make him a tremendous asset to the firm.”

Earlier in his career, Anderson held senior financial management positions with Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, Littler Mendelson and Cornerstone Research. Across those roles, he managed accounting and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, audit and tax matters, billing and collections, insurance programs, technology systems and other business operations. His experience also includes leading process improvements, system implementations and staff development initiatives.

Anderson earned a Master of Business Administration in finance from California State University, East Bay, and a Bachelor of Science in accounting, with a minor in business, from Brigham Young University.
