Bella Olmedo is an experienced litigator who practices as a part of HFM’s Health Care Law and Transportation Law Practice Groups.

She has defended skilled nursing facilities and administrators in a variety of elder abuse claims and claims for vicarious liability against affiliated corporate entities. She has also represented hospital medical staffs in judicial review hearings and assisted in their corrective action and peer review processes.

In addition, Ms. Olmedo has provided counsel to hospitals, medical staffs, and physician groups on healthcare-related issues with a focus on bylaw and policy review and development, corrective action, medical staff credentialing and privileging, and fair hearing procedures.

She has also advised health care providers on issues including anti-kickback, physician self-referral, privacy (HIPAA) and other laws and regulations

During law school Ms. Olmedo served as a law clerk in a local healthcare law firm, and as a contract analyst at the University of California San Diego Health.

Ms. Olmedo earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from San Diego State University. She is fluent in Spanish.
