HFM-75th-Logo-160x160SAN DIEGO, Calif. – April 14, 2014 – Higgs Fletcher & Mack, one of San Diego’s oldest and largest law firms, recently held its 2014 Firm Reunion.

The event was held to thank current and past attorneys and staff that have been a part of Higgs at any point in time since the firm’s founding 75 years ago.

“The reunion was especially significant this year because we are also celebrating our 75-year anniversary, a huge milestone for us,” said John Morrell, Managing Partner of Higgs Fletcher & Mack since 1997. “It is amazing to have employees, some that were with the firm for more than 40 years, all together in one room.”

More than 200 guests attended including past members of McInnis, Fitzgerald, Rees & Sharkey, which merged with Higgs in 1999. Among those attending were Patti Cooksey, a retired legal secretary with the firm for 41 years, and former Higgs attorneys now judges including Honorable James McIntyre, Honorable James Milliken and Honorable Gregory Pollack. Bob Fletcher and Bonnie Fletcher, son and grandniece of founding partner Ferdinand Fletcher, were also in attendance.

The firm has an extensive history going back to its beginnings in 1939 with its first office in the Bank of America Building at 6th and Broadway when there were only three main buildings in San Diego for attorneys: Bank of America, First National, and San Diego Trust & Savings. Since then the firm has grown significantly and now has more than 70 attorneys and 70 additional staff.

Celebrating its 75-year anniversary in 2014, the firm has pledged 7500 hours of community service in 2014, as well as financial support to local non-profits throughout the year.
