Nick Schechter is a litigation attorney, who practices as a part of HFM’s Business Litigation, Health Care Law and Professional Liability practice groups.

Mr. Schechter’s practice focuses on civil litigation in state and federal courts with an emphasis on professional liability and health care law. Throughout his career, he has represented health care professionals and facilities in civil court, binding arbitrations, and administrating licensing matters. His experience also includes personal injury defense, representation of school districts in SAM cases, and medical malpractice defense.

Mr. Schechter is active in the Southern California legal community and served on the Board of Directors of San Diego Defense Lawyers. He is also a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.

He earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law where he was on the Dean’s Honor List and received an Academic Achievement Award. Prior to earning his law degree, Mr. Schechter received his Bachelor of Arts in history with honors from the University of California at Berkeley.
